1. What is Video KYC?

It is process of customer onboarding through digital channel and video interaction between customer and bank officer 


2. What type of accounts can I open through this channel ?

You can open Savings account under full KYC by using this channel


3. I have an existing relationship with YES BANK. Can I open a new account digitally through this portal?

Currently, only new to YES Bank Customers can open savings accounts. Existing YES BANK customers can approach nearby YESBANK branch to open additional Savings Accounts


4. Can I open a joint account with my wife/ family?

Only Single holders can open accounts digitally. Once the account is opened digitally, customers can visit their nearby YES Bank Branch to convert it into a Joint Account


5. What are the documents required to open the account?

Aadhaar Number and PAN are mandatory to open Savings account digitally


6. What are the documents that are needed during the Video KYC call?

During the video call, Bank officials would validate the details filled in the form. Post validation, you would be asked to show original PAN Card


7. I just received an Email / SMS for a Video KYC link. What should I do?

Visit the link and self-authenticate. Upon positive confirmation Video KYC call will be initiated to the User

8. What are the timings of VKYC?

Timing of VKYC :

Weekdays (Monday - Friday 3rd and 4th Saturday): 09:00 AM to 09:00 PM

Weekends (only Sunday 2nd and 4th Saturday): 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM

9. Will my signature be updated when the account is opened through video KYC ?

Yes, signatures are captured during the video call.

For signature - White paper sheet and black pen is required. Customer should sign on the top left corner of the paper


10. What are the prerequisites for performing Video KYC?

Below are required:

Easy and handy availability of verification documents like PAN Card and Aadhaar Number

White paper sheet & black pen

Device with microphone and camera feature to complete your KYC procedure

Well-lit room with plain background

Strong and secure internet connection with uninterrupted data connectivity

Customer need to be present in India physically

11. I have submitted the online account opening request and Video KYC is yet to happen. However, I wish to change the information in my application.

Before submitting the account opening application, a preview option is given and the customer is allowed to change the information filled in by him/her. However, post submitting the application, in case of any change, the customer needs to visit the branch.

Do’s

a) For signature - White paper sheet & black pen is required (Marker not allowed)

b) Customer should be seated at a location where there is no disturbance in the background

c) Customer to complete the Video call – Several cases are found where the reason for failure is Customer “Not active on Chat/ Terminated Session/Browser Closed/Not answered the call/went offline”

d) Customer should have good network while doing VKYC- Various instances found that include “Connection dropped/Video Audio not clear/connectivity issue”


Don’ts

a) Photocopy/E-Pan Card should not be used while doing VKYC

b) Indian Residents born outside India are not allowed to open an account through VKYC

c) If the officers are not available or the customer is coming after working hours, customer will have to the option to perform Video KYC later

d) Language Barrier – Customer needs to communicate either in Hindi or English
